About the Conference Proceedings Series

Focus and Scope

The EdgeCon Proceedings Series publishes innovative research, case studies, and emerging work in the field of digital transformation in higher education. Our publications capture the collective knowledge shared across our Autumn, Winter, and Spring editions each year, representing a diverse community of higher education professionals.

We welcome both full papers and abstracts. Abstracts are included in our proceedings as a means to showcase early-stage work and innovative ideas and are intended to lead to future, more robust publications. Full papers undergo peer review and receive DOI assignments, while abstracts are published without DOIs as placeholders for ongoing scholarship.

Publication Process

The EdgeCon Proceedings Series publishes three volumes annually—Autumn, Winter, and Spring. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed continuously. Accepted submissions are assigned to the most appropriate edition based on thematic alignment and review timelines.

Each edition focuses on timely themes such as technology’s impact on the student lifecycle, digital teaching and learning excellence, and the integration of emerging tools like AI.

Peer Review Process

All full paper submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process in which authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Submissions are evaluated on their originality, methodology, significance, and contribution to the field. The editorial team consists of experts from various disciplines, including IT, academic leadership, instructional design, and digital innovation.

Abstracts do not undergo peer review but are curated by the editorial team and included in the appropriate edition as part of our early-stage publication model.

For further details on submission guidelines, please visit the Submission Guidelines page.

Publication Details

Only peer-reviewed full papers receive DOI assignments and are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. Abstracts are included in each edition to support scholarly visibility but do not receive DOIs.

The proceedings will be published digitally within 30 days after the conference and will be widely indexed to ensure discoverability. Authors of exceptional contributions may be invited to expand their work for our quarterly digital magazine or featured webinar series.
